On the last weekend of November, the Mumbler Awards lit up Harrogate’s Crown Hotel with a celebration of the best child-friendly businesses in Harrogate and surrounding areas. Sponsored by Cryotherm, the event brought together 350 attendees to recognize the contributions of local businesses, foster community spirit, and raise funds for the inspiring work of Martin House Children’s Hospice.
Championing Local Business and Community
Cryotherm takes pride in supporting small businesses and sponsoring the Mumbler Awards is a reflection of the company’s commitment to supporting the local community where Cryotherms Directors’ live. Directors Melissa and Adam Cowen believe in the importance of small businesses and the vital role they play in creating a thriving community.

Supporting Martin House Children’s Hospice
In addition to celebrating local businesses, the awards raised an incredible £3,155 for Martin House Children’s Hospice, which provides care and support to children with life-limiting conditions.
A highlight of the evening was from a mother who shared her story about how Martin House helped her family. The charity’s support enabled her daughter to spend precious time at home, surrounded by her loved ones—a testament to the life-changing impact of their work.
A Festive Touch from Cryotherm
In the lead-up to the event, Cryotherm’s Director, Melissa Cowen, spread holiday cheer in Harrogate town centre by adorning herself with Christmas decorations and singing Christmas songs to raise money for the Hospice, ahead of the event. Her enthusiasm captured the spirit of the Mumbler Awards – a celebration of community, kindness, and joy.
Celebrating with the Team
The event was also an opportunity for the Cryotherm team to come together. Employees and their partners were treated to an overnight stay in Harrogate, enjoying a night of celebration and camaraderie. Managing Director, Adam Cowen, had the honour of presenting an award during the evening, reflecting Cryotherm’s active role in supporting the local business community.
