Doug Godfrey, co-founder of Cryotherm

Doug Godfrey – Founder

Doug started work in 1964 and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1970.  He has been involved in the construction industry since 1975 and has extensive experience in product supply and contracting in both the UK and internationally.

His involvement in Fire Protection started in 1979 as a Director of Morceau Fire Protection, a leading contractor specialising in both the Commercial and Petrochemical sectors. He took the company to a Stock Market listing in 1984.

Inspired by a concern for safety in construction, in 1981 he co-founded Cryotherm specialising in the provision of passive fire protection systems and fabrication services. He was also a Director of the Association of Structural Fire Protection, Contractors and Manufacturers and played an active role in its reorganisation to become the ASFP as it is now known.

In 1991, Cryotherm became a family business and remains as such to date. Personal Service, commitment to Quality, Customer Care and the Wellbeing of employees remains at the forefront of the Company’s ethos.

Now retired, Doug remains involved in a non-executive capacity supporting ongoing development and strategy.
